The UCLA Pritzker Center for Strengthening of Children and Families will present a forum with UCLA physicians and community health experts titled, “COVID-19, the Vaccine & Foster Care” on Thursday, Feb. 25, 12-1:15 p.m., PST.
Questions about COVID-19, the vaccine, and other issues concerning foster care, caregivers, children and families will be discussed. Medical racism and health inequities facing the Black community and communities of color will be emphasized.
Physicians participating in the forum include Dr. Michelle Aguilar, Venice Family Clinic; Dr. Tatiana Gellein, physician specialist for children in foster care, Olive View Medical Center; Dr. Michael Mensah, MPH, chief resident, UCLA Department of Psychiatry; and Dr. Keith C. Norris, Ph.D., professor and executive vice chair for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, UCLA Department of Medicine.
Aziza Lucas Wright, M.Ed., assistant professor and vice chair of the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, and Omai Garner, Ph.D., director of Clinical Microbiology, Pritzker Endowed Chair, and vice chair for Clinical Laboratory Affairs, UCLA Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, will also round out the discussion.
