Juan Pedro Ross Olivares (he/him/él)
Ph.D. in Education
Juan Ross-Olivares is pursuing his PhD in Higher Education at the University of California, Los Angeles. He graduated from the Universidad de Chile with an MSc in Mathematical Engineering.
His motivation for higher education research has led him to research students’ activism and changing political perspectives during college. He is also interested in students’ motivations and the process of adaptation to higher education, especially among underrepresented students who are admitted through alternative admission pathways.
His research is mainly focused on the Chilean case, although he has participated in and developed USA-context projects.
