Megan Abraham (she/her)
Joint Doctoral Ph.D. Program in Special Education
Megan Abraham is a joint doctoral student in the schools of education at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA). She works as a graduate student researcher with the CSU UC Collaborative on Neurodiversity and a Special education lecturer at CSULA. She has over twenty years of experience teaching grades K-12, and for most of that time has been a Nationally Board Certified Teacher Exceptional Needs Specialist. Megan’s research focuses on identifying and understanding accessible learning environments for diverse students with disabilities, including multilingual students. Her current research investigates engaging students with disabilities in inquiry-based mathematics instruction. Her other research interests include engaging students with disabilities in discourse, teacher beliefs about ability and disability, and the school experiences of students with disabilities. When she is not teaching, studying, or writing, she enjoys traveling and hiking with her family!
