Elizabeth Sanchez (she/her/ella)

Ph.D. in Education

Elizabeth Sanchez is a qualitative researcher in Higher Education and Organizational Change. Her research interests explore the complex familial influences that families have on their students’ persistence to and through higher education. Under the guidance of Dr. Cecilia Rios-Aguilar, Elizabeth seeks to expand the Funds of Knowledge framework to account for the vast range of lived experiences and relationships that students have with their families. Elizabeth also serves as a Graduate Student Researcher for the Arthur Ashe Legacy Project, which aims to research student leadership and launch the Global Youth Leadership Academy. Additional research interests include student leadership, family engagement, and access for underrepresented students. As a representative for the School of Education and Information Studies, Elizabeth advocates for students, builds community, and collaborates to make ED&IS a place for all.
