Natascha Chtena, a doctoral candidate in the UCLA Department of Information Studies, has published a post for the “GradHacker” blog of Inside Higher Education. Her latest entry, “Some (Mostly) Easy Ways to Become a ‘Greener’ Scholar” outlines habits that can reduce one’s carbon footprint and save resources like energy, fuel, and paper.
A former journalist, Chtena has previously researched the use of social media to educate the public about marine conservation. She is currently performing fieldwork for her dissertation, which focuses on the emergence and usage of open source textbooks.
