Elizabeth Ashley Fox-Jensen

Visiting Assistant Professor

Elizabeth Ashley Fox-Jensen is a designer, researcher, and educator working at the intersection of digital scholarly infrastructure, art documentation, and information integrity. She is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Studies at UCLA for Autumn 2026, where she teaches the MLIS course “Authenticity, AI, and the Design of Digital Information Environments,” and she is concurrently a Visiting Scholar at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Her research follows two tracks: the design, access, and sustainability of digital catalogues raisonnés, grounded in her role since 2011 as Editor of the Ted Stamm Catalogue Raisonné and developed in Digital Catalogues Raisonnés: Design, Access, and Sustainability in Art Historical Scholarship, under contract with Routledge; and AI-generated synthetic media and democratic resilience through the Deepfake Democracy Project, which she founded, with theoretical work on ambient skepticism and the liar’s dividend. Before coming to UCLA, she was Lecturer and Co-Program Director of the Design BA at Malmö University in Sweden, and previously taught at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen and Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. She serves as an EU Expert Evaluator for the Marie SkłodowskaCurie Actions and as External Examiner for the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Research (2026 – 2030). She holds a PhD in Digital Humanities from the School of Advanced Study, University of London (2025), an MFA from Parsons School of Design, and a BFA from Memphis College of Art.
