Ph.D. in Education

Andrés is a doctoral student in UCLA’s Department of Education and a Graduate Student Researcher at the UCLA Center for Community Schooling. His current work examines the role that districts play in supporting policy implementation at the school level, particularly in the California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP), and how they navigate its transition as a one-shot grant into ongoing funding. His previous work has focused on program and policy evaluation, using multiple methods and multilevel models to study school improvement processes. Previously, he has extensively studied, evaluated, and advised public policies around the publishing industry and ecosystem in Chile and Latin America, examining the relationship between policy, bibliodiversity, and literacy. He is co-founder and consultant at the Chilean research-oriented nonprofit ‘Fundación Co-Crecer’.
