The UCLA School of Education and Information Studies and the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health will present, “Risk Communication in Schools During COVID-19,” a free, interactive, three-hour training for principals and school administrators. The training content was created by public health risk communication experts Deborah Glik, Sc.D., and Cathy Lang, Ph.D., UCLA Fielding School of Public Health; the UCLA School of Education and Information Studies, and the UC San Francisco Center for Excellence in Primary Care. Additional support has been provided by the California Department of Public Health and California Connected.
Topics discussed will guide school administrators and principals in how to effectively use risk communication best practices to enhance COVID-19 prevention, screening, testing, and case management, as well as to decrease community transmission in schools.
Three training options are available on Fridays, Feb. 19 and 26, and March 12. The sessions take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.:
