Christie, the SEIS Wasserman Dean and Gorman, senior advisor to Chancellor Block and chief of staff, will address gathering at the Luskin Conference Center, Oct. 26.
Wasserman Dean Christina (Tina) Christie welcomes all UCLA Ed&IS alumni that work on campus to a reception on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 4-5:30 p.m. in the North Patio of Plateia, at the UCLA Luskin Conference Center. Representing UCLA alumnae and campus leadership, Dean Christie and Yolanda Gorman (‘78, Psychology; MBA ’83, ’93, PH.D., Educational Psychology), senior advisor to Chancellor Block and chief of staff, will address the gathering.
Before beginning her UCLA career, Gorman was president and CEO of Phillips Graduate University, a graduate school of professional psychology and management. She is a two-time regent emerita for the University of California Board of Regents, and the first African American woman to chair the board of the UCLA Alumni Association.
Dean Christie, who is also a professor of education in the SEIS division of Social Research Methodology, is committed to training educational scholars in mixed-methods, and evaluation and research methods. She is the former chair of the Theories of Evaluation Division and the Research on Evaluation Division and now serves on the board of the American Evaluation Association (elected) as member at large (2011-2013). Christie served as a section editor of the American Journal of Evaluation (2004-2009) and serves on the editorial board of Studies in Educational in Evaluation.
