UCLA Ed & IS Faculty Recognized in Annual Public Influence Rankings

Nine scholars affiliated with the UCLA School of Education and Information Studies have been named to the 2026 RHSU Edu-Scholar Public Influence Rankings. The rankings are intended to recognize the 200 university-based scholars who had the biggest influence on educational practice and policy in the past year. 

The UCLA Scholars in this year’s rankings includes (pictured from left to right) Gary A. Orfield, Tyrone C. Howard, Megan L. Franke, H. Samy Alim, Eva L. Baker, Louis M. Gomez, John Rogers, Lori Patton Davis, and Eddie R. Cole. Kris Gutiérrez, a faculty member at the UC Berkeley School of Education and a UCLA Ed & IS Emerita Professor is also included in the 2026 rankings. 

The RHUS Edu-Scholar Public Influence Rankings are published annually by Education Week blogger Frederick M. Hess, the director of education policy studies at the American Enterprise Institute.
