CRESST will present “What’s the Evidence: Do After-school Programs Make a Difference for Kids?” on Sept. 28 at the UCLA Luskin Conference Center. Julia Phelan, senior research scientist, CRESST, will moderate a panel of experts including Pedro Noguera, UCLA Distinguished Professor of Education; Renata Simril, president and CEO of LA84; and Eric Gurna, president and CEO, LA’s BEST.
Topics to be covered at the forum include some of the most important issues threatening after-school programs today, such as de-funding, and how to produce positive outcomes for students despite the challenges. Speakers will discuss best practices in methodology in after-school and enrichment programs and how to define success.
