Notify your immediate Manager/Supervisor to help you determine any short term leaves that will be three or less days such as for Sick, Medical Appointments, Personal, and/or Vacation request. For any long term leaves, please reach out to the Academic Personnel Office (academicpersonnel@seis.ucla.edu) or your AP Representative for any questions. - Which type of leave fits your circumstance?
UC offers the following leaves, so review the information if you are unsure what type to take:- Paid Leave (includes accrued leave, such as vacation, sick leave, PTO, and CTO; and/or Pay for Family Care and Bonding)
- Family and Medical Leave (FML; may be eligible for Pay for Family Care and Bonding)

Leave of Absence
In the event of life circumstances necessitating a leave of absence from your UC position, it’s important to follow necessary procedures to ensure UC is informed of your intentions and to maintain eligibility for benefits.
