Academy for Excellence in Medical Education

The Academy for Excellence in Medical Education is a partnership between the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA (DGSOM) and the UCLA School of Education and Information Studies. Our mission is to promote excellence in the field of medical education through research, professional development, school and community programs, and the cultivation of a community of medical education scholars and practitioners.

UCLA Professional Leadership and Coaching Academy

The academy is committed to refining individuals’ leadership and coaching identities in order to provide equitable and relationship-centered support in systems. We welcome applicants from education and non-education based fields.

UCLA Women’s Community College Leadership Academy*

The Women’s Community College Leadership Academy (WCCLA) is an innovative program designed to help mid-level leaders tackle critical issues currently facing California Community Colleges. It is constructed for full-time faculty and mid-level administrators in academic, student and administrative services. The Academy focuses on increasing the capacity of participants to effectively lead and collaborate in times of change and improve outcomes at their own colleges. The Academy assists members to hone their leadership skills and shape their leadership trajectories.

UCLA Women’s School Leadership Academy*

WSLA was designed by K-12 women educators to provide practical sessions on leadership that focus on collaborating for change, communication, mentoring, career expansion, connecting voice to vision, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, and navigating professional and personal lives.

UCLA University Women’s Leadership Academy for Mid-Career Professionals*

The University Women’s Leadership Academy is designed for mid-career professionals who seek to hone and extend their leadership and value to their universities. The Academy emphasizes navigating the overt and covert university. Activities and instruction are led by expert practitioners in areas such as human resources, academic personnel, finance, student affairs, negotiation and collaborating for change.
