Daryl J. Barker

Ph.D. in Information Studies

As a doctoral candidate my research has focused on conducting humanistic inquiry on digital technologies. The goal of my research is to better understand how humans understand, interact and are shaped by the digital tools which are part of our daily lives.

Coming from an information studies background my commitments focus on concepts of access and open inquiry. I seek to apply ethical and philosophical considerations to what otherwise may be technical questions in the digital technology space.

My scholarship has included work in the fields of teaching and learning, instructional design, science and technology studies, interdisciplinary work across political science, media studies, gender studies, and legal studies.
