Undergraduate
If you graduated in Fall 2024 or Winter 2025, you are eligible OR If you are a candidate for a degree, you are eligible only if you are:

• Ed Minor/IML Minor: Spring or Summer 2025 graduate.
• Ed Major: Spring or Summer 2025 graduate; Fall 2025 graduate with OSS approval.

Graduate
If you graduated in Fall 2024 or Winter 2025, you are eligible. OR If you are a candidate for a degree, you are eligible only if you are:

• M.A./M.Ed./MLIS: have successfully completed coursework and have
  advisor verification of successful exam/portfolio/inquiry/thesis
  completion prior to Friday, June 13, 2025. MLIS and TCL Fall 2025
  graduates may participate only.
• Ph.D.: your chair(s) must verify you will file the dissertation no later
  than September 12, 2025. OSS will verify via email.
• ELP Ed.D.: your chair(s) must verify you will be ATC by June 3, 2025
  and on Filing Fee for Summer or Fall 2025. OSS will verify via email.

You must submit the “Declaration of Commencement” form NO LATER than May 9, 2025.

In the case that you would NOT wish for your name to be printed in the ED&IS Commencement program, please note this on the Declaration of Commencement form. Otherwise, your name will be printed exactly how you submit it on your Declaration form.

Your name will be printed EXACTLY as you print it on the Declaration of Commencement form.

Please complete the Declaration of Commencement form. State you are not participating but want your name printed.

One undergraduate Education & Social Transformation Major student speaker will be selected through a peer selection process. Student speaker guests will receive reserved seating. Information will come separately via email. Speakers will be selected by mid- to late-May.

One undergraduate student marshal is selected by the Department to lead candidates into the commencement ceremony. Student marshals are nominated by department faculty and staff not only for their academic excellence but also for their service to the Ed&IS community.

One student singer will be selected from ED&IS to sing “Hail to the Hills of Westwood.” Auditions will be submitted via video and an announcement will be sent via email. Student singer guests will receive reserved seating. Submission deadline is set for May 19, 2025.

• Education and Social Transformation undergraduate students select BA School of Education for ordering cap and gown.
• MA (HDP, HEOC, SRM, SSCE) students select MA GraduateSchool of Education & Information Studies
• MED (MSA, PLI, TCL, TEP) students select Master of Education
• MLIS students select Master of Library & Information Studies
• ASUCLA is selling light blue cords, which are unique for Ed&IS. They may be purchased online or at Grad Etc in Ackerman Union.

On the card you receive when lining up at Commencement, please be sure to clearly write your email on the card. Diplomas will be available approximately four to six months after graduation. A form is available on the Registrar’s website for having your diploma mailed to you. http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/Forms/Graduation-and-Diploma

Tickets are NOT required for this event. Open seating is available on a first come, first serve basis. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to get the seating of their choice.
