Marjorie Elaine (formerly Marjorie Faulstich Orellana) is a Professor of Education and Associate Vice Provost of the International Institute. Her research centers on the experiences of the children of immigrants in urban schools and communities, especially as language brokers. She conducts community-engaged research using ethnographic methods and discourse analysis, making connections from children's everyday lived experiences and school curricula.
