Haida Jimenez-Martinez is deeply committed to giving back to her community and is passionate about guiding and supporting students as they pursue their individual goals. A proud native of Oxnard, California, she is a first-generation college student and former Migrant Education student who understands firsthand the power of education to transform lives.

Haida has dedicated the past 17 years to working with students across all educational levels from elementary through undergraduate school. She currently serves at Moorpark College, where she supports underrepresented and underserved students, including foster youth, through programs designed to promote academic success and personal growth.

Prior to her current role, Haida worked for over eight years as a Counselor at California State University Channel Islands, where she supported a diverse student population, including first-generation, low-income, at-risk, and STEM students.

She holds a Master of Science in Counseling and Guidance and a K–12 Teaching Credential from California Lutheran University (CLU), as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a minor in Chicana/o Studies from California State University Channel Islands.

Outside of her professional life, Haida enjoys spending time with her son, husband, and extended family. She is honored to be part of the UCLA Educational Leadership Program (ELP) and looks forward to continuing to serve as an agent of change, expanding higher education opportunities for all students.
