Anna Robinson-Sweet (she/her)

Jeremy Abbott (he/him) is a librarian and lawyer, currently pursuing a doctorate in UCLA's Department of Information Studies, where he researches the "public" in public libraries, examining spatial control, legal infrastructures of information, and how we can build more just and inclusive visions of both information access and the civic public. His other research interests include epistemic justice, homelessness, and decarcerating libraries. Jeremy is a proud member of the Abolitionist Library Association. When he's not in the stacks, he enjoys pedaling his bicycle around Los Angeles, trying to keep plants alive, and re-alphabetizing his record collection.

Jeremy Keen Abbott (he/him)

Jiarui Sun is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Information Studies at UCLA. His research interests include digital recordkeeping & archival informatics, information resource management & digital government, community-based archives, and qualitative research methods & design. Specifically, his current work focuses on the ethical considerations triggered by technology applications in archives.

Kai Nham

Luke holds a BA in English and an MA in history from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and spent five years as an assistant archivist and collections specialist at a heritage museum in Colorado Springs. His dissertation research explores knowledge production at the intersections of scientific work, creative practices, and infrastructure in remote polar research settings. Luke received training in ethnographic methods through UCLA’s Department of Sociology and conducted extensive fieldwork for his dissertation at an Arctic research station. His other scholarly interests include archives, collective memory & genocide, privacy & surveillance, and critiques of technology. In his spare time, Luke enjoys rock climbing (and was even a sponsored climber in another life), hiking, backpacking, camping, spending time with loved ones (his dog included), and working on cars & motorcycles; he is also a board member for The Giving Child Organization.

Luke Bohanon (he/him/his)

Bay Area born-and-raised doctoral student in UCLA’s Department of Information Studies focusing on the political economy of libraries, particularly labor and policing. Graduate of UCLA’s MLIS program in 2020, focusing on labor issues in LIS, special collections and archives; co-president of SAA @ UCLA and co-chair of UCLA’s SCA student chapter, 2019-2020. Committed to police- and policing-free libraries and a member of the Abolitionist Library Association. Personal hobbies and interests include crosswords, basketball, surfing, and ceramics.

Pietro Santachiara is the Bernard and Martin Breslauer Fellow and a Ph.D. student in the Department of Information Studies at UCLA. His research deals with knowledge organization and modeling, classification of cultural heritage artifacts, and digital humanities.

Tianji Jiang (he/him/his)

Ulysses Pascal is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Information Studies at UCLA. Their research focuses on the globalization of financial information infrastructures. For their dissertation, “Circuits of Finance: NASDAQ and the making of a global market” they have been investigating NASDAQ’s role as a global supplier of stock exchange infrastructures to financial centers around the world. Using the attempt to build a 24/7 computerized market network between NASDAQ and sister exchanges in Singapore and London as a case, their research asks how information technologies, protocols, and metadata schema condition the mobility of market logics.
