DESCRIPTION:On behalf of the Office of Public Engagement\, we are pleased to invite you to a special Learning Cafe\, featuring conversation with the California Secretary of Appointments Morgan Carvajal\, who reports directly to Governor Newsom\, on Tuesday\, January 20\, from 12:00–1:30 p.m. (PST). This learning cafe will feature a catered lunch.  \n\n\n\nThis session will offer a behind-the-scenes look at how gubernatorial appointments are made\, the role they play in shaping public policy across California\, and—importantly—the many pathways available for faculty\, staff\, and students interested in public service.
