DESCRIPTION:California’s recent legislation protecting recess for all children marks a crucial step in promoting children’s health and well-being. Recess is more than just a break from academics — it is a vital opportunity for social and emotional development\, self-regulation\, and peer relations. For children with disabilities\, recess is as important as classroom learning\, providing a natural setting where targeted interventions can support social\, emotional\, and behavioral growth. This talk will explore Remaking Recess and other evidence-based social skills interventions that have been successfully implemented in public schools.
